I just thought of something. The saying, and now hip-hop song “Party Like a Rockstar.” Everybody knows what this means, but if it’s in a hip-hop song, why isn’t it “Party Like a Hip-Hop Star?” or “Party Like a N*gga?” (That’s not being racist, just something hip-hop artists may use). Is it because everybody knows it’s not real fun to be there in a club with 80 billion people all sweating on you? Or they know it’s not too fun to drive around in lowered old-school oldsmobiles shooting people (and getting shot at)? They probably know it’s funner to freak out and shove phones up girls boxes and call their moms on it while it’s inside, or funner to destruct an entire train car in Japan while giving concussions to half the travelers on board because of an errant Jack Daniel’s bottle or two.
I’m just sayin. It is interesting though to see hip-hop artists acknowledging the rock star lifestyle – it’s obviously appealing to them.
Now let’s go party. Like a rockstar, not like the song.
