Just to be clear, I’m writing this post on behalf of a friend. I’m not even sure if he has been to the site, but after talking to him and hearing stories about this kind of thing I realized that a post needs to be done.
He was telling me that he met this chick, talked to her for less than a minute, and gave her his number, and ever since then she’s been texting him nonstop and even sending cameraphone pics and whatnot. That’s all fine and good, but my friend doesn’t respond to most of the texts and definitely not to any of the pictures. Occasionally he will respond to one of the texts, to be nice or whatever, but has even told her that he’s not interested, yet for every text he responds to, she’ll send about ten, saying things like “Ummm… hello?” and “Am I so horrible you don’t even want to talk to me?” She doesn’t take the hint, and he’s a good guy and really isn’t trying to lead her on (like I said, he told her that he’s not interested), but doesn’t want to be a total dick about it.
Now, my friend is pretty chill and doesn’t get too worked up about things much, and was just kind of laughing about it, but there was a time a while ago when something similar happened to me, and it irritated me a whole lot. The difference though was that for me after a few days of not answering many text messages, I’d get a phone call from a blocked number that would just hang up after I answered and said hello, then right after that I’d get another text saying something stupid like “hey” or “what’s up?” And many times I’d respond only to say “don’t f*cking call me and hang up again if that was you. I hate that sh*t.” Eventually, I stopped getting the phone calls and texts, and haven’t for a while now, because I’d stop answering blocked numbers and wouldn’t respond to anything, no matter what, which is what I think my friend should do. He’s not interested, not going to get anything out of it, so just responding, and if he sees her around just do a simple acknowledge but nothing more than a cross-room head bob.
So the real reason I’m writing this is to tell all of you chicks out there to take a hint. Send one text, maybe two. If you don’t get a response, don’t keep texting, that’s not going to make anyone respond. Don’t turn into a creepy stalker chick, and especially don’t call and hang up right away, just to see if we’re here and ignoring you. Clearly, you are being ignored, so get over it and move on. Seriously, how many times a day do you look at your phone? Probably at least 30 or more throughout the day. So does everybody, and so that means your texts have been received, and read, and IGNORED. Don’t try to find us, if you know where we work, stay away. That’s stalking, even if you think it’s just “checking up” on us. Stop doing that, if we don’t want to talk to you or text you clearly we don’t want to see you, especially while working.
So seriously, just stop being creepy crazy chicks, and when you meet someone text them one time, call them one time, and if there’s no response, forget about it already.
