I don’t even have the time to look up the DISGUSTING stats for the NY Mets bullpen this year but it’s simple. They suck. Worst in baseball. I can tell you that if you only took away half of the blown saves this team would have a 5 to 6 game lead in the east. Johan Santana would have 20+ wins easily. (Side note: anyone who calls Santana a “bust” knows nothing about baseball. Right now he has a era of 2.66. That is how you judge a pitchers performance, not wins and losses.) But it doesn’t matter because with the loss of Billy Wagner, most likely for good in NY anyway, this team has no shot in the postseason. That is assuming they even make it. From top to bottom the bullpen is just plain dog-shit. Don’t get me wrong, a postseason appearance would be great but you can’t think they have a shot IF they get there. The only chance would be with a three man rotation of Santana, Pelfrey and Perez with Pedro and Maine going to the pen. But don’ keep your fingers crossed because with 4 against the Cubs (NL best team) and 3 against the RED HOT Marlins (won 8 of last 9) this NY team is in trouble. The Brewers complete collapse is their only hope. I am sure Goose has a lot to say about this.

What is it about this team? Why do they insist on playing like a bunch of assholes in the month of September every fucking year now? I’m fucking sick of it. If the fucking bullpen blew half the saves they did, (30 total I think) they would probably have clinched the division by now. Nothing is worse than having the lead late, only to have these fucks blow it. I thought nothing could be worse than the epic collapse from last year, but it almost feels the same. Don’t get me wrong, they have battled adversity all year with the injuries, sheriff Randolph and what not. They have had a pretty good year considering. Just finish the fucking thing off. Win 5 out of the next 6 and give yourselves a shot in the playoffs. Maybe the bullpen can learn by then not to walk people and pitch the ball right down the fucking middle every time.
As of today they have 30 blown saves by the bullpen. 30!!!
