Here’s an interesting story that everybody I’ve asked for their opinion on seems to know nothing about. This isn’t a huge surprise, but rather disappointing that the mainstream media have given it little to no attention. This story dates back over the past year, when President-Elect Barack Obama’s citizenship began being questioned. Many months later, and many undelivered requests to show proof, and a lawsuit was filed by Philip Berg, an attorney in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania court decided not to hear the case, but the Supreme Court has agreed to “conference” about the situation on Friday (December 5).
There’s a few things I’d like to discuss here. Firstly, this is a HUGE deal, and I am appalled that the major media outlets are not covering this. Rumors regarding citizenship are one thing, but when the matter heads up to the Supreme Court, that’s news. I feel that these media organizations are doing a severe disservice to the American people, because if the Court does in fact rule that he is ineligible to be our next President, everybody will think that this came out of left field and is a bad decision by the Supreme Court. However, the original case was filed in August of 2008, and has been, in my opinion, somewhat swept under the rug by everybody since.
The Obama campaign was reluctant to release any birth certificates or further proof of his citizenship after many questions regarding when his mother came here, and why relatives back in Kenya said in an interview that they were there [in Kenya] for Obama’s birth. A “certificate of live birth” (pictured right; click it for a larger view) was provided by Obama’s campaign, but there are many questions about the legitimacy of the document and even a video on YouTube of an expert’s findings regarding this document.
Now, many of you will say that I’m just against Obama, etc, based on earlier posts I’ve written. However, regardless of who it is, this is a serious issue, and if someone will be the most powerful person in the US and one of the most powerful people in the world, we need to make sure that he is really a citizen. He’s already getting daily Secret Service briefings and access to top secret areas and documents. Personally, I think he probably is a citizen (I’d hate to find out that this “minor detail” eluded so many governmental agencies for so long already), but I am curious as to why his campaign would spend millions of dollars in legal fees to not show proof. Why not just show people what they want, and not cause a big fuss? The important question though is what will happen if the court decides to hear the case? And what are the possible outcomes?
Well, if the court decides to hear the case, it would be history in the making. I’d think that if they found Obama to in fact not be a natural-born citizen, a couple things could happen, depending on when the ruling was. If it happens before the inauguration, then I believe a re-election would take place. But this would lead to interesting questions in itself, such as could the Republicans choose somebody other than Mc Cain to run? And who would the Democrats choose? Hillary? Biden? However, if the court decides Obama isn’t a citizen after the inauguration, I think he’d be removed from office, and Biden would then step in. This, of course, is all speculation, but if it is the case, expect Obama, the Democratic National Committee, and the Federal Election Committee to be slapped with some pretty heavy duty fraud and forgery charges.
As it stands right now, Philip Berg requested an injunction against the casting of votes by the Electoral College, as well as an injunction against the counting of votes by Vice President Cheney, in an effort to block the Obama campaign from the inauguration, depending on if and when the case would be heard by the Supreme Court.
In any case, I believe that this matter must be resolved so that America knows for sure about his citizenship – because if not, we’re going to have another four or possibly eight years of the same division that occurred after the 2000 election debacle in Florida regarding the counting of votes. We need to be sure that he is legitimately the President if for no other reason than to avoid the bitterness and hatred that won’t go away from Obama opponents.

Had not heard this but to me it as irrelavent as his skin color or the church he went to. Just do the job, I don’t care if you are from Hawaii, Kenya, or Mexico. Just get it done. Let’s all just leave him alone and I will not really being saying anything anymore until he gets in the white house and things start to happen. Till then…go Orange!
Irrelevant? Our Constitution says the President must be a natural-born citizen, 35 years old, etc… It’s nothing to do with picking on him or race or anything, it’s a Constitutional issue.
Meh, it’s just nitpicking, I am sure it’s going to be fine. I want best man for the job, that’s all. Our last guy was a natural born, red blooded, red necked good ol’ boy from Texas. As “American” as it gets. Look how that turned out. I’m not worried and I don’t think most people are. Consititutional? How about that Partiot Act?
The same could have been done for McCain who was not born in the United states but in a US territory. It’s all a gray area as far as I’m concerned. Even if Obama isn’t a naturally born citizen, he has clearly come up through the American system and IS a legitimate American citizen. There is no reason to question his allegiance or devotion to this country and the office to which he was elected. I believe that is what the constitution is trying to protect. The words may say one thing, but the ideas behind the words may say another.
To say that American main stream media has failed to report what is “the story of the century” is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Their cover-up is treasonous. In the event the Supreme Court ultimately determines that Obama cannot be President — not qualifying as an Article II “natural born citizen” — the msm will be the blame for any civil unrest by failing to prepare the American public.

I am willing to bet all these people freaking out about this horrible treasonous act had little to say when the this very same Supreme Court handed the state of Florida and the 2000 election to Bush and literally stole it from Al Gore. Give it up folks, it’s over. If they can get away with that and the multiple other violations/war crimes I am sure this will slide too. If it’s even true.
Well the Constitution says what it says, and we just can’t arbitrarily choose when to enforce it and when not too. In other words, if he was born here, cool. If not, we can’t just overlook it and make an exception – because it’s the law.
As for Florida in 2000, Gore may have won the popular vote, and in such a close election that’ll happen. But with our electoral voting system the way it is, the popular vote doesn’t always win.
What sickens me is that since Nixon we’ve had Presidencies that are so surrounded in scandal and rumors and accusations that it is literally tearing America apart and turning us all against each other. This Obama issue needs to be settled, to avoid another 4 or 8 years of “he’s not my president” and “he’s not even allowed to be president.”
I agree that scandal has followed every president in the last 40 years. Reagan and his Contras/CIA selling drugs. Which reminds me, everyone read Dark Alliance by Gary Webb. Shows just how corrupt that administration was. Yet he is regarded a hero among conservatives. Clinton caught a hummer from a intern and they tried to impeach him for it. Insane. Yet Bush is basically a war criminal and he’s just skating by all that. Florida was likely stolen. Yes ,Bush won electoral votes but only because he won Florida. The Supreme Court forced Florida to to stop the recount they were in the middle of and handed it to Bush. It is widely believed that the recount would have resulted in a Gore win in Florida and hence the election. That is f*cked. All I am saying is people just need to back off and accpet the election is over. Regardless of all this he will still have our best interest at hand. I also read he has already spent 800,000 dollars to prove it’s all valid. So it’s not that big of a secret I guess.
I am sick of people talking like the Constitution doesn’t matter. The Constitution says the President of The U.S. must be a natural born citizen. There is no gray area there, that’s as black and white as it gets. Regardless of whether you people liked Bush or not, that’s no excuse to let someone take over the Presidency who’s not even eligible under our laws and Constitution!!!
Thanks Pepper, I agree – and also think that if there’s ANY question whatsoever that our leader may be in violation of the Constitution I think it at least warrants a court-led investigation.
Unfortunately, this case isn’t going to be heard by the Court. I can’t say I blame them though, as it would cause riots, havoc, and so much chaos and confusion if it turns out he isn’t a natural-born citizen.
If it is found out that that Hawaaian Cert of live birth is inaccurate or fraudulent, and that Mr Obama was in fact not born in the USA, can any of u spell ” Civil War”?????
