There’s been a lot of debate recently surrounding the expiration of the “Bush Tax Cuts.” While almost nobody is arguing that taxes should be raised across the board, controversy surrounds the issue of renewing tax cuts for those earning an income of over $200,000 per year.

Most people generally get a warm, fuzzy feeling when they find that their house’s value increased 50% over the last several years. This gut instinct is generated by our many experiences in the past when we owned something that we could easily sell at a profit and walk away with money in our pocket. And if you are a real estate investor, when a property you own appreciates, this is exactly what you can do (or charge a higher rent, generally). But what about the average homeowner?

Social Darwinism, survival of the fittest – history is full of examples of companies that didn’t change with the times and went to corporate heaven. Blockbuster video is a recent example – Netflix changed the video rental landscape almost independently.

With the recent release of what the next version of the iPhone OS 4 can do, and also with the new Android 2.1 software released to Android phones recently, I thought I’d do a quick comparison of the two new updates and see which, in my opinion, is the good way to go for those of you considering picking up a new smartphone or extending your current contract.

Why the hell did this become such a big issue in the first place? Or for that matter, why do any of these Establishment cases, be it a cross, the Ten Commandments, Nativity Scenes, etc. become such big issues? Personally, I think it’s retarded – and not just on the side of the ACLU – the morons who make a ruckus out of this sort of thing are equally to blame.
